Who is Lucy Chu?
Lucy Chu is a recognized piano teacher and music educator with 6+ decades of teaching experience. In 1989, she created and developed the E-Z Notes series of music teaching tools. E-Z Notes is highly-regarded and endorsed by major composers and pedagogues. A native of Shanghai, Lucy received her Bachelors and Masters music performance degrees from Indiana University and continued her studies at the Juilliard and Mannes Schools of Music. She has also performed as a guest artist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Lucy’s daughter, Laura Chu Stokes NCTM has also taught private, partner and group lessons in her independent studio and at Appalachian State University. She and her daughter, Kasey Stokes — a soon-to-be graduate in piano performance from College-Conservatory of Music/Univ of Cincinnati — handle daily operations and marketing of E-Z Notes.
